Reset/hack Linux-mint login password (Specially on Mint 12)

Hello ! Today i am going to show you the way of resetting/hacking Linux-mint login password (Specially on Mint 12). Follow the instructions below-


1. Firstly, you have to know the owner/account  name. Otherwise you have to log on as root.


2. When Linux-mint boot menu appears, Simply press 'e' from keyboard.


3. A new dos window will open. See on the marked area in 9-10 line. We have operations on this line.


4. Come closer to that line by arrow keyDelete the marked area that says ro  \quiet splash vt.handoff=7
5. That line should look like this-


6. Put these command on that line. I mean replace that line by these code-
rw init=/bin/bash


7. Your line has just become like below-


8. Press CTRL+X of F10 to boot. (If it takes too much time restart computer directly or by ctrl+alt+del.)
9. A new DOS window will come soon.
10. Put commands like given below
passwd USERNAME (replace username as your desired name. (Be aware about uppercase & lowercase)


11. Give the new password for two times, you may not be able to see the new password on that DOS mode.
12. If it shows successful message then restart computer by pressing ctrl+alt+delete from keyboard.


Hint:  If it doesn't reset the current password then apply the tricks again.
